Welcome Back! Traffic Update for First Day of School

Good Afternoon,
 
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are thrilled to welcome our students back to school tomorrow. Our buildings are in excellent condition, thanks to the hard work of our custodians and grounds crew. Our teachers and administrators are eagerly looking forward to meeting their new students. 
 
As many residents of South Hempstead and Rockville Centre are aware, the Nassau County Department of Transportation has been making repairs to both Long Beach Road and Hempstead Avenue. We want to inform you that this construction may impact our busing schedule and overall traffic in the area. We have been in communication with the contractors for both projects and have made them aware of our school arrival and dismissal times. 
 
While we do not anticipate any issues with morning arrival, there may be some additional traffic during dismissal, particularly around Covert and Hewitt. To ensure a smooth process, we will have extra staff on hand to assist during dismissal times.
