Update

Update 11/24/2020 
- A student at South Side Middle School was confirmed as a positive case of COVID-19.   In consultation with the Department of Health, it has been determined that no further action is needed.

Update 11/23/2020 - A staff member at South Side School was confirmed as a positive case of COVID-19.  In consultation with DOH, contact tracing has been completed and all who are deemed direct contacts have been notified.  No further action is needed.


Update 11/22/2020
- A staff member at Hewitt Elementary School was confirmed as a positive case of COVID-19.  In consultation with DOH, it was determined that this staff member has not been with others in school since developing symptoms and no further action is needed.

Update 11/22/2020
As a result of the positive case of COVID-19 at Wilson School, one classroom will be switching to remote learning.

Update 11/22/2020 – Contact tracing due to the confirmed positive case of COVID-19 at SSMS has been completed.  Due to the impact on our operations, seventh grade students will switch to Remote Learning beginning November 23rd and returning December 7th

Please disregard any rumors that the Nassau County Executive and/or the New York State Governor have directed Nassau County Superintendents to prepare for a potential long-term closure with remote instruction after the Thanksgiving recess. There is no truth to these rumors. The District has received no communication or directive from either the County Executive or the Governor regarding this subject.


We will notify you of any changes.
